Emergency Medical Technician
Auburn Career Center is accredited by the State of Ohio – Department of Public Safety (#302) to teach all levels of EMS providers. Auburn Career Center holds a continuing accreditation with CAAHEP (#600720) through accreditation recommendations by CoAEMSP for Paramedic Programs.

Emergency Medical Technician
The Emergency Medical Technician program prepares students to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. Emergency Medical Technicians function as a part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance. The Emergency Medical Technician is a link from the scene to the emergency health care system. Successful completion of the program allows the graduate to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification examination. This Emergency Medical Technician Program is accredited by the Ohio Division of EMS and meets the NEW National EMT Curriculum. An additional 32 hours clinical time is required. Course Schedule Information
The Emergency Medical Technician is an entry level EMS program that all students must start with if you plan on a career in EMS. Auburn Career Center's program is 220 hours long, which includes 32 hours of Clinical and Field Experience time. This allows our students to gain the valuable information and retain that information throughout their careers in EMS. The clinical rotations can be done in local emergency rooms and over 40 different fire and EMS departments across Northeast Ohio. Auburn Career Center's EMS programs also include vouchers for the National Registry Exam, up to six attempts ( restrictions apply for subsequent attempts).
Auburn Career Center's EMT class starts twice a year in March and August. This part-time program meets two days a week from 6pm to 10pm and 4 Saturdays (enrollment due prior month).
Auburn Career Center offers a Summer EMT program that starts in June and meets three days a week from 9am to 3pm. This EMT program is ideal for a college student that is looking for certification for their degree or to pursue another career option. (enrollment due the prior month).
Financial
This program is considered part-time and is not eligible for Federal Financial Aid. Students with Chapter 31, Vocational Rehabilitation, or Chapter 33, Post 9/11 GI BILL may be able to use their VA educational benefits for this program.
